2600′ Zipline!! Ziplining in North Ga near Helen
Ya you read the title right, that’s 2600′ of zip line down the side of a mountain!
This video was taken last fall but I just got around to posting it on our YouTube channel, this was a great camping trip! I am originally from Germany so obviously a town that is completely modeled after a Bavarian town is something I want to check out.
We currently live in Florida which is beautiful but I haven’t seen a hill taller than 4 feet in years and growing up in the Berkshire mountains that’s a bit of a change. So we decided to make the trip up to Helen Ga in the fall and what a wonderful place. The town itself is pretty cool but a bit of a tourist trap, don’t get me wrong its worth checking out but we had way more fun exploring the mountains and trails in the area.
This is the base of the Blue ridge mountains and the start of the Appalachian trail, there are tons of great mountain hikes with so many awesome water falls. When I get a chance I will highlight each one for you to see.
We initially wanted to go Zip lining at Unicoi State park which is defiantly worth checking out. The park itself is great and the zipline course goes over the lake! However they must be understaffed since we attempted to make an appointment and never got a return call from the gentleman we spoke to. So we ended up going to Nacoochee Adventures just outside of Helen and they had a pretty cool zip lining course through the trees, but you have to spend the money and go for the big one at the end featured in our video, if not your missing out. They also have a challenge adventure course and ATV trails which we did not have time for. All and all it was a great trip and I wanted to share this video of us going down the half a mile zip line!
